Szymon has worked with my
company on two occasions: for the first time, in the summer of 2002, and more
recently in the summer of 2004. During his first sojourn with us Szymon made a
set of toe-blocks for a 16' reed, helped with the construction of casework, and
helped build a large windchest. The past summer he re-joined us briefly to help
with the installation of an organ in Binghamton, NY.
Szymon possesses the
indispensable quality for an organbuilder: a will to build organs. Of the many
people who pass through organ shops (as I have observed over thirty years in
the craft) only a few have what the French call "le feu sacré" - the
passion for the organ that makes organbuilding not merely a trade but a
vocation. Szymon has this vocation. I am certain that he will e an asset to any
organ shop that engages his services and that he will always bring credit on
our profession.
